ACCA Qualification - Professional Scheme
ACCA has established a worldwide reputation for the high quality and relevance of its syllabus and examinations attracting the best students around the world to the challenge of completing the ACCA professional scheme. Study materials available are excellent and inexpensive. You can order study manuals from ACCA accredited tuition providers and sit the examinations in all major cities in Australia and New Zealand.
In order to qualify as an ACCA member, you will need to complete:
- 14 exams
(up to nine subjects are eligible for exemption if you have an accredited Australia/New Zealand degree)
- Relevant practical experience, with a minimum of three years
- A professional ethics module

Important Dates
Registration:
31 December if you wish to sit examinations in the following June session
15 August if you wish to sit examinations in the following December session
Exemptions:
31 January if you wish to gain exemptions for June examinations
31 July if you wish to gain exemptions for the December examinations
Examinations:
Held in June and December each Year.
Students will need to complete their examination entry forms by 15 April and 15 October for the June and December examinations respectively
How to apply for exemptions
The number of exemptions you can claim will depend on how closely your previous qualifications match the content of the ACCA syllabus. For example, if you have completed a relevant degree from an ACCA-accredited university, you may be eligible to claim exemption from up to all nine exams within the Fundamentals level. No exemptions are available from the Professional level.

Fees
On registration you will be asked to pay an initial subscription fee. Then on 1 January each year, an annual subscription fee will be due. As you enter for exams or claim exemptions, payments will be required.

In addition to registering with ACCA you will also need to decide how you wish to study and prepare for the exams, which will vary in cost. You have the flexibility to decide how and where you wish to study. ACCA works closely with over 440 tuition providers through its University and College Registration Scheme (UCRS) that offer courses including part-time, full-time and distance learning.
